Growing up in Chennai in the 90’s, every Sunday found me either playing on the cricket field with my friends or sitting in front of the TV to watch episodes of Mahabharat, a serial that was based on an enduring ancient Indian epic from the 4th century BCE. This show mesmerized me as a child, and it has stayed with me ever since.
The resonating characters, the action-packed scenes, and the compelling plot twists welcomed me to a world of mythology that fascinated my young mind. But I’ve always wondered, what would these stories look like from the perspective of the characters whose voices weren’t quite as prominent in the popular retellings?
This project seeks to answer that question.
